The first steps of becoming a vegan include what does a vegan actually eat and why? As a newby I am learning myself on the go, as well as showing my findings of alternatives to new foods which are nutritious and still giving you a balanced diet.
‘A vegan diet contains only plants – such as vegetables, grains, nuts and fruits – and foods made from plants'(NHS)
The main questions opposed are how do we substitute the foods we eat now to more healthier, plant based ingredients. The answer is simple, it is not about taking away certain foods, it is about what to add. One of the challenges that occurs is actually how to cook or prep the food rather than substituting them for what may seem healthier but isn’t as nutritious. This can also take time, as we are learning on the go whether it be watching a video, reading about it or even via social media.
On my adventure I will be sharing my recipes, information on alternatives and new fun facts about food.
